ETHEREUM → KADENA BRIDGE: FIXED Since 2.8.3, choosing the Ethereum→Kadena direction left the token list at 'loading balances…' forever, and neither Simulate nor Execute did anything. The Kadena→Ethereum direction worked, so it looked like the bridge or the relayer: it was not. It was our bug, introduced in 2.8.3 with the fallback-node change: four bridge functions asked for the Ethereum node using a variable that did not exist there, and crashed before asking anything. Also, if the balance query fails for any reason, the reason now shows under the list instead of sitting at 'loading'. UNDER THE HOOD A new test reads main.js and checks that every handler declares the variables it uses: that is exactly how this bug slipped in, and neither the syntax check nor the library tests could see it. The automated tests go from 139 to 219 checks.
